This alternate design concept was created for a devotional book observing the Christian period of Lent. 40 days prior to Easter, many Christians across the world take time to fast and pray. This book provided the church congregation with daily readings to supplement their prayers. For this design, I wanted to place the feeling of an age-old practice such as Lent inside the modern context of 2022. I used hand drawn elements I created for the border alongside a modern sans-serif typeface.
